'Student Nurse Editor' and regular contributor

Nursing

‘You get a professional qualification, for a professional manner.’
I have been a student nurse at Anglia Ruskin University since September 2010 and it was after completing my first written assignment that I contacted the ‘Nursing Times’ to find out how to contribute to their publications.

The ‘Nursing Times’ has been going since 1905 and they provide insightful and comprehensive content on a wide range of subjects in modern nursing, so I frankly didn’t rate my chances all that high.

To my surprise they like my initial submissions and asked for more articles. After supplying them with a few the Student Nursing Times was in development and and they asked if I wanted to be the ‘Student Nurse Editor’ with a weekly blog. I of course said yes as this was not only a great honour but also a great personal achievement for a first year student with little writing experience.

Obviously their site will be the place to go to find all the information you could possibly want, but if you want to find out little bit of background information on the articles and any other ‘backstage’ news on how I am getting on with writing them then just have a look at my blog.
